a not so general question

So I tried my luck with a Western Digital Passport drive for my Kenwood KVT 819 flip out, needless to say it didn't work. I returned it before I could try to see if like a Y connector would work on the device but has anyone found a hard drive to work with these so called USB ports?

im trying to utilize the divx capabilities of this device and the thought of having over 100+ cds is starting to ****. i guess it's just trial an error at this point.

i'm gonna go with it being a power issue. I need to get more power to it, maybe I will have to run a HD off like an inverter or something. I didn't want to go that route, just wanted to see if anyone else has had any luck with the USB provided input

you could try it to make sure....then you have either figured it out or ruled out another potential issue:idea:
