That's basically it. If you immediately got out of your car apologetic like "hey man I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying attention", he probably woulda noticed it was just his hitch and not said a word.
Plus, it's almost never worth threatening or the violence, until the person becomes unreasonable when dealt with rationally. When you start off with confrontation, it only makes the person want to screw you over, which is never good when the police can get involved, because the police would love any assistance in screwing you over.

like i said. charge me for some bulls**t as we see what happens afterward. he disrepected me and i desrespected him, but charge me with some bull and cost me money and time, i gonna find you and break your jaw.

Defuse confrontations, don't escalate them. Who knows how far something will go for sure? Better to be apologetic than in jail (if you win the fight) or in the hospital or morgue (if you lose) when it's a very small matter.
