Doesn't matter. Buddy of mine almost got hit with it. He was parallel parked park getting out. He backed into the car behind him (trailer hitch of his truck hit the license plate of the car, he never felt it) There was only a small mark on the license plate. A person driving by saw it happen got his plate number and called it in. He then later got a call from the police saying he needed to come in for a hit and run.

He knew the owner of the car and she didn't press charges b/c it was nothing. Still shows even though nothing may of happen to the vehicle, you can still get charged with a Hit and Run.
