a few simple neon questions....

I was looking at auto zone for some neons for the interior of my car. I was lookin for around 10" red ones, but have a few questions. I saw one that was a 9" thin tube for 20 bucks, and then i saw a thicker one that was 10" and either stayed lite the whole time or pulsed to the beat of the music. This was also 20 bucks. I was curious though, why theses were the same price. Would both of these have the same brightness. I like the thinner looking neon, but for the same price, the other one seems as though its a good deal. What do you think. Do you think the thinner one is better quality and do you think they still have the same brightness. They were also both the same brand.

The ones at Auto Zone are made by RedLine - possibly a derivitive of another company but I cannot say for sure...

The thinner ones are more expensive because they offer a bit more mounting flexibility in that they are thinner and do not take up as much space. If you'll look at the packaging some of those thinner ones are marked as "UltraBrite" or something akin to that and those are brighter than the standard ones.

I have one of the 15" tubes just under my backseat wired into the stereo and it lights up my entire interior pretty well.

is the 15" tube one of the thicker ones or thinner ones?

But from reading that i think ill go with the thinner ones, beacuse it will definitly create a much cleaner look, which is really what i want. Thanks for the info.
