Engine noise from speakers that have not been hooked up to any power source yet... read on and thanks for any advise in advance
I know i should have kept searching thru the threads but its getting late and i'd like to find an answer so i can get back to getting my system installed.
I have a new dodge magnum 06 with the 6 speaker factory setup... i just started uninstalling the old and installing the new stuff i bought. All i did today was put in components (infinity 5010cs) in the front passenger side door/ dash, tried to get the driver side in too but that door boot was being stubborn. I used streetwire 14g twisted wire and crimped on some rings. Did the speakers to the crossover and ran another from there along the passenger side to the rear where my amps will eventually go... since i havent worked out all the details of that install yet. So this component set is hooked up to nothing... yet i get engine noise from it... Help... I'm not quite sure what would cause noise when there is no power running thur it....
Couple notes... the battery for the magnum is in the back and has a large gauage wire running to a charging battery in the engine bay(for jumps, alt, etc.), this wire also runs along the passenger side near (but not directly next to) my speaker wire i just ran.
If i get no replys by my next time working on this project, i'm gonna check if the crossover might be touching something it shouldnt be. not sure what else to do besides moving the wire to opposite side perhaps?
thanks and sorry for being so long winded...
