Using the 346CS in my car right now. Currently having problems with my setup, I am not sure if its my amp or the components. It is odd though, the 346cs MSRP is like $600 but they are being sold everywhere for like $150. And on their site, it says alumnium cone, but my woofers doesn't even have a cone... The tweeters do sound really nice though, no complaints there. Just midbass, getting distoration. But I am getting distoration in my rear CDT CL-69 (6x9) woofers as well. So most likely amp? (its a PowerBass ASA 400.4 50x4 RMS)

I don't know.. I want to hear others reviews as well.

after reading that one fella's review of these components in the Product Review section, I think I want to hop onto eBay and by myself a pair, just for a rainy day...

he made them sound pretty great...I really would rather hear a 2nd and third opinion before I make a decision, since I would only be buying them for my next vehicle install which wont be for 8 months or so...

but...the way he described them: smooth mids, NOT-harsh highs, warm sound, detail, these are all of the things I am looking for

Do you know the difference between a cone and a phase plug? Every speaker has a cone, its the main part that moves back and forth with the surround. A phase plug is a cone shaped piece that fits in the center of some speakers, but the 346cs do not have these.

It does more if you imagine it by itself, without the rest of the speaker and the dust cap. It's basically funnel shaped, although some cones are quite flat and some are very deep.
