the alpine MRD605 is a quality product

JL's 500/1 benches around that much power

Will in all likelyhood be one of the best amps you'll find in that price range. Zed Audio (if you don't already know) is one of the *great* amplifier designers, and is responsible for some of the most highly regarded old school amplifiers.

Actualy no, most they will put out is 550wrms. There site seems to be down but i belive the RIPS system doesnt allow them to put out much more then rated power.

The cheapest I could find BRAND NEW on ebay was like $386. I think I'll check out something different, although that seems to be a good price for a JL amp.
