9mm vs 45 acp

9mm+p compared to stock .45...

How about .45+p.....

WINCHESTER RANGER RA45TP

this is what I carry in my Ultra Compact....devastating round.

Now for the best of both worlds, the .40 is a great choice.

See, the .40 got a bad rap due to when it was first introduced. It was rather lacking in power and bullet design at first. It has since come a LONG way and is a very good round.....

Now if you have a Glock in .40 (and a few others) you can swap over to the Sig .357 rnd by just swapping out barrels...the mags are the same.

(the Sig .357 is a necked down .40....)

They are nearly the same as the Black Talons...

These are the 3rd gen. The only real difference is the coating is now clear vs. being black.

If you ever get the chance to fire one into some ballistic jell, go for it!! They open up even better and are very sharp!

I once had a Winchester rep. tell me that the "SXT" meant Same Exact Thing...lol.

Some where in my ammo collection, I still have a few new boxes of 9mm and .45acp Talons....

lol I've been into firearms for years.

You want truth? Most pistol rounds behave the same way in living tissue. FMJ's, hollow points, etc, all the same thing. 9mm vs 45 vs 40sw, etc all the same. There are many forensic pathology books on the subject. I suggest reading a few.

Pick whatever caliber you are comfortable with and stick with it.

You know, I thought I'd hate them too, but I actually like them. I feel like they're more suited for defense than a standard thumb safety or even a decocker. I don't want to be messing around with my thumb if someone's about to start shooting up a theater; I'd even more dislike having to deal with double action for the first round. So I really like the idea of a trigger safety, and I like the 1911-style safeties on the hand guard as well, for the same reasons.
i got in the habit that when i reach for mine in the holster I flip the safety off when i first grip it. so the thumb safety is pretty simple when you get adjusted.

I have a ruger 9mm. For a gun that your actually going to shoot i'd go with the 9. The ammunition is waaaaay cheaper. And if you actually use it for self defense I doubt the smaller bullet will make a difference.

Just research ballistics.

I have a .45. And its the small caliber I have. I wont pack a 9. I wont pack a **** Glock either. I dont mainstream what everyone else has or says is best. Kimber is WAAAAY better than a Glock. Like Pinto to Porsche is Glock to Kimber. And guess what? MADE IN THE USA! (i'd own ALMOST any manufacturer over Glock....as long as its made in the USA..just not a Hi-Point, lmao)

hey now those high points aren't tooooooo bad.For the money anyway. my friend has one, we shot the hell out of it one day. it never jammed or misfired. and was fairly accurate. (plinking cans and targets at 20- 30ish yards) we shot a couple hundred rounds throug it. Using the cheapest ammo we could find too.
