99 Ford explorer. 2x12's + 2 x 15's

from reading this, i'de suggest sticking to a pair of 15's, because i think you have no idea how loud 2 15's in the back of an explorer can get.

1) fix your electricla

2) build a proper box

This is what 2 15's in 8 cubic feet net looks like (about 10 cubic foot gross)

Doesn't that cancel itself out on the roof?

you have a lot to learn //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

do some reading on here before you spend any money. There is a wealth of information.

and no. In more cases then not, the loudest possible box setup in mid-to-large size SUV's is subs up, ported towards the hatch.

you have an explorer, so getting loud will NOT be an issue with properly installed 15's. Explorers are notorious for being bass machines. I know, ive had one.

What would you suggest for a enclosure for these old school 15's in a 99 explorer. I think that setup in your pic looks pretty awesome.

thanks

I wont bother then and just install the alt. BTW... awesome work in you sig
Well the train of thought here is that by comparison, a cap isn't a worthy investment. You, however, already have the capacitor. If you already have it, just install it. No, caps don't work amazing miracles, but they do help a LITTLE bit. Why not get that LITTLE (very little) bit if you've already got the cap anyway? It's not like it's that difficult to install.
