'99 Extended Cab Stereo System

Hey everyone! I've been looking around the forums for a couple weeks and just decided to make an account! haha

Well I just got a '99 Ford Ranger extended Cab and the first thing i want to do is get a new stereo put in! I am a senior in high school and i work on the weekends so the money comes in every weekend and I think I want to just get things in steps I guess.. I'm not to sure what to start with and in what order!

Basically I want to get a new Head Unit First off.. or i think so.. because I have the basic just am/FM radio. And would like an aux and CD player.. I also would then want to replace both the door speakers and the speakers in the back which I believe are all 6x8's... I'd also like to then put a sub box in the back on most likely the drivers side where no one will sit.. but I'm open for other opinions! =)

I am very new to car audio, and this is my first car! I'm not sure if what I am saying is making sense but basically i am looking for advice on what i should do.. if i have the order of "upgrades" correct.. if I would need any other equipment.. like an amp? or tweeters?

I am also looking for advice on what actual stuff to get.. like speakers and Head Units.. and everything!!!

Any advice is much appreciated!!! And I am up for any opinions or things people think I should do!!! I will probably be working with my dad on this and I know it will be weeks maybe months.. My dad also talked to me about building a box.. i wasnt sure about that because he isnt the smartest or most experienced with car audio.. would a ported or sealed sub box be best??

I just need all the help I can get please!!!

anyone any ideas? Right now i just want to start with a head unit i think.. any suggestions on something with good quality that maybe in the future i'd be able to add an amp or a sub??

Any suggestions? =)

Well i'm not looking to spend to much. well at first that is..

i was thinking of somewhere around 150 on the HU.. and these are what i was kind of looking at.. what do you think?? or do you have any suggestions for something along those lines of an HU?

I think thats what i want to do first.. get a new HU then upgrade the front speakers and maybe just take out the back speakers..

is that a good idea or no?

EDIT

also what do you think about this HU for at first then i can upgrade later?
