I just crimp my ring terminals, but are you supposed to solder them without crimping them at all?

That is correct,solder is pretty much like welding the terminal to the wire,there no need to smash it.the wire will break before the connector pulls off,or the ring will pull open.

How about going active with all your mids and tweets? It really cleans everything not to mention be more efficient and sound better.

active that would take lots of time and work dialing everything in just stick with what you have it will be fine cant wait to see pics of this box..The smaller port area will help control the woofer under all that power you will be throwing at it so the smaller port is completely understandable..Now a bigger port would be more ideal if his wasnt his daily drive and for burps to put up a huge number only..

That'd be three amps, just for the doors. I don't know if he has any tweets in the pillars on top of that.

You could feed ONE signal via RCA's to all mids, not to mention you could run each channel @2ohm so you could double up on mids if you wanted... Same with tweeters, just a separate signal for all the tweeters.

AMEN, and the extra sound quality is there. Your deck can do, why the **** not in my opinion. It is taking your system to the next level for free.
