9887 vs ida-x305

I replaced my ida-x001 today with the ida-x305 but since the bt module has been outdated and doesn't work I'm thinking of returning this thing tomorrow and going with the cda-9887. no comparison right?

Correct. The IDA-X is a great idea, which Alpine has a lot of, but it's doesn't offer most of what a good headunit needs. What area of Texas are you in? Where'd you get the IDA-X from?

Purchased from custom sounds in austin. I'm not happy with those guys.....

May just return the x305 and purchase the 9887 from some online retailer telling them goodbye forever.

After seeing the huge NO REFUNDS on their invoice I may be stuck w/this effin thing...well not "stuck" but know who not to do business with again. I hope they credit me towards the 9887.

Actually I could care less about "works with iphone or ipod". I use an hdd with lossless files and only listen to digital media. I may just keep the x305 with my imprint module if custom sounds give me a hard time. the only thing that bothers me is alpines suggestion that the imprint is 4v outs and from what I hear it doesn't live up to it. May not be a big deal to me since I listen at lower levels the smooth roll of my morels sound best at. I mainly listen to

I like the hands free BT and imprint eq of the alpine. I know the 9887 offers the same but not sure I need it....

i have the ida-x100 and almost went with the 9887 kinda wish i did now. ida series has nothing good about it other than you can use your ipod =x

but that's debatable. the 9887 has some of the eq abilities of the imprint setup, which I already have so it's basically down to "does the 4V output of the imprint measure up to the 9887" ?

I won't go back to cd's....EVER and use lossless format media so does the 9887 offer me any advantage?

9887 you can use cds if you have too and you can use ipod/usb. id think the 9887 would sound better. there are more eq settings than the ida

I have the imprint module. don't care about the 9887 eq functs and never plan to play cd media again, only lossless via my hdd. could care less about ipod, iphone or any other apple bs.
