June 2008: Update - Nano owners, Alpine has created a cable to solve this problem. If you purchased this Alpine receiver from Crutchfield, call Product Support for your free cable.
February 2008: When an iPod Nano is connected to this Alpine, the Nano will not turn off when the Alpine does, causing the Nano battery to drain. Users can disconnect the Nano from the Alpine each time the vehicle is turned off to avoid the Nano battery drain. Alpine is aware of this issue and is seeking a solution.
That is off crutchfield.... I might be giving my 9883 to a family member and just buying the 9884 for ~ $120. I have a nano though.... and those messages concern me, anybody know what's up with that? Instead of constantly charging my ipod will it just drain it? Is it fixed now?
