9831 or 9815/9835

How big is the difference between my unit the 9831 to the 9835 and the 9815? Is it worth upgrading?

oh the 9815 was GOD. lol the cool thing about the 35 is the bIOlight, i beleive 7band eq. alittle more KICK in rms. and it is the FLAGSHIP of 2 years ago. adn teh 9815 is teh flag ship for 3-4 years ago. i loved mine but i got a screen so i got rid of my 9815.

didn't look at the specs for the 9831 but the 9815 and 9835 has a 3way active xover and it has pretty decent tuning capabilities with the 9835 having a 5 band peq i think or 6. also both have time alignment. i would ugrade.

They seem pretty much the same thing except that 9835 and 9815 have the 5 band parametric eq over your current HU like alphakenny1 said. The 9835 does have the "graphic" display so if that makes a difference to you and you can get a good deal on the 9835, I would upgrade.

Yeah there is a significant difference between a 9831 and a 9835, I would upgrade. The BioLite display is quite nice, it has a more powerful internal amp, 3-way crossovers, better EQ, and time alignment.

I had a 9815 and loved it. Then I had a 8454 and I liked it too but not as much. I just got a 9835 to replace it.

I just bought a cda-9815 off of ebay for 187 shipped for my friend. I think for the price, the features are pretty amazing. Time alignment and 3way xover ftw!

yeah if I could the 9835 would be my next upgrade again, theres one going for 350 on craigslist... that sounds like a ripoff does it??

yea $350 for a used 9835 is not a total ripoff but not reasonable at all. my friend recently bought a BNIB 9835 for $380 shipped. but $350 is not a total ripoff.

Out of all the HU's I've owned...the Alpine 9835 is my absolute favorite.

I've owned Alpine, Eclipse (8053), Clarion, Pioneer...and had extensive experience with JVC, Sony, and more.

I ditched my Eclipse 8053 for the Alpine 9835 and never looked back. I then sold my 9835 when I bought a Clarion vrx745vd 7" Flip-out DVD player...but then sold the Clarion soon after and turned around and bought ANOTHER Alpine 9835 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

I love it, it's amazing. The BioLite is tits, the active xover is sweet, time correction, etc...etc...etc...
