98 bmw 328i speakers?

my friend has a 98 328i and wants to upgrade his speakers. he said he has 3 speakers on each side in the front and 2 mini-sub like speakers in the back. I was gonna tell him to go with the CDT CL-61's for the front but when he mentioned he had 3 speakers on each side, i wasn't sure if that would work. he's lookin to spend $400 tops for all the speakers. I would appreciate any suggestions. btw, he has a tsunami 4440 amp and here r the specs:

* 4 X 75 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms .05% THD

* 4 x 110 WRMS @ 2 Ohms .1% THD

* 2 x 220 WRMS @ 4 Ohms Bridged .1% THD.

he is also gonna have one 12" idmax for the bass. he's lookin for SQ more than anything else. thanks for the help.

That is a tough budget to get good sound with unless you can build kick panels for that car. I have a 95 M3 and you can buy speakers from MB quart that fit those front speaker slots but they are rather expensive.The other option is to get 5 1/4 speakers for the front floor board and to fit 6 1/2's in the rear deck.

ur friends speakers should have speakers in the kickpanels. And tweeters and mids in the doors. Tell him to ditch everything and get a nice 5 1/4 component set and an amp to power em. CDT's would be great, or try focal or crystal. There is many companys to look at. for amps cheap amps with good quality would be profile, or us acoustics.

cool, i think he's gonna go with the cdt's because they r on sale. r there any mounting depth issues that he should be worried about? btw he already has an amp to power em, its the tsunami 4440 so with new speakers it should sound awesome.

look into focal poly glass three way slim midrange added usually fits anywhere
