97-03 grand prix owners

i have mine sub and port facing the back. i have not tried any other way so i cant tell you how it would compare to others. but i know it gets loud enough for me this way. mabye down the road i will fire port and subs into the cabin and seal off the trunk.

When I had a Grand Prix I had sub and port facing back. Pretty standard for a sedan. I experimented with other methods but generally speaking this alignment sounded the best.

This may be a fairly obvious statement, but GP trunks rattle like mad. The spoiler and license plate especially. I would strongly recommend some deadening of some kind otherwise you're going to have a fart trunk regardless of the quality of your equipment.

ya no joke it sounds like my ****in bumper is going to fall off and my trunk pop open. i need to buy some deadner!

I have a 03 and have 2 AQ HDC312's powered by 2 AQ 2200d's and 2 Powermaster D3100's. Just installed it and have them fired rear with port in center. Doesn't get as loud as I like and wanted to try some other methods and am curious to see what has worked for others. Anyone know how to convert the back seat so it folds down regularly? I'm not talking about taking the seat off, but actually fold down.

try using some raammat! it works really well for me- barely any trunk rattle with 4 layers lol. oh ya, i'm starting to have my trunk leak! anyone experience?

what are the specs of your box? are trunk opening is weird so we cant really get a big box in there that may be the problem. for the folded seats i dont think it would work with out allot of work because the hooks that are on the back part of the seat. i have seen people on clubgp.com switch out there seats for the 04+ grand prix seats which fold down but they had to do some modification to get the seats to bolt up and fold down.

I have a monte, simular trunks... And i have my 4 10''s facing up. with 2 aeros firing into the cabin. its loud as piss.
after i saw your build i was thinking about trying out something like that have the aero ports firing through the pass thru on the rear seats.

I have had 5 different sub setups in the GP at least, sounded best with sub and port facing back. If you want to lose the backseat, it can be done but with the opening and angle of back seat brace it can be difficult to seal it off. Thats why I gave up making it SPL vehicle

You should give that a try... Ive had both subs and port firing into the cabin, subs and port firing liscense plate, and now i have sub up port into cabin, and this is by far a louder setup.

the box is 35 wide x 21 deep x 15 high. I actually had to glue/drill the top on while I put the other part inside the trunk, so now it won't come out unless I cut the box up. I'm fine with doing that cuz I like messing with boxes. I was originally going to go with subs up port back. Might have to try that out and let you guys know about it. It's either that or selling these new subs and getting the HDC310's. Ill have to take some pics tomorrow and post em so you guys see what the current setup looks like. I also made some new holes for the components in the rear deck and made the port through the 6x9 holes haha. doesn't look bad now though

so sub up/port into cabin has been the best for you? where is the box located in the trunk and what are the specs for it? obviously our box size needs will be diff but i'm just curious
