96 Camaro After Market Radio Install

if it is Bose, it has a factory amp. the speaker outputs from the new headunit actually feed a signal to the factory Bose amp.

did the system work before you did this install?

your best bet is to buy/install new speakers and run new wiring to them. that will give you the best sound and solve your issue.

otherwise, did you connect the blue/white Kenwood wire to a wire in the harness?

Everything worked fine before the install. I will not be able to run new wiring. I don't have the time or the money to do so. I am not sure about the blue wire. I believe there is a plain blue wire and it is not hooked up. The Kenwood did come with a remote also if that makes a difference.

the Kenwood has two wires: Blue/White for an amplifier turn-on, and Blue for power antenna. The Blue/White wire is used to turn on the factory amp. Hopefully the wire harness you bought has that connection, otherwise you need a different adapter.

GM uses a Pink wire for factory amp turn-on, and a Pink wire for power antenna.

Verify the factory Pink wire is connected to the Kenwood Blue/White wire, you may also have a Pink wire connected to the Kenwood Blue wire. Or there may just be one Pink wire - in which case you connect it to the Blue/White wire.

If you mix those up, you will have sound with the Radio only.
