did 151.3 legal on a new TL last night (2 15 VFLs)

will get pics and vids up ASAP

i havent adjusted amps at all yet im guessing the subs are going to blow. i want mid 50s from the set up i have now.

so as soon as i decide a replacement im going to just destroy the VFLs

one of the vfls has a serious issue with a coil. i could have got a little more out of them but they were starting to get hot. of course they were also doing 147.3 for 30 seconds. after that i heard a pop from the coil. didnt blow yet tho. sounded nasty tho.

i was adjusting the amps i think after a little more tweaking i should be able to do around a 154 or 155. not going to go any higher than that only because i know they are going to blow.

when they were built they left the shims in it

these are those bastard subs i was going to sell. kind of happy i didnt. im going to replace them with the APX or 9515 and have these reconed and keep them around for spares.

ive always liked the DDs myself. helps that a friend is a dealer locally. hes really pushing to have me use them.

whichever i use they will have close to 3000 each on them

the APXs dont seem to be to bad themselves tho

I have owned a 9515d and a apx, and I loved the apx. But I don't know how much better a knewer 9515 would be.

aren't vfl's pretty close to apx's? might be thinking of another, but i know they're based on another super sub.

You are totally correct, I am sure BOB and George work RATHER close when producing APX subs and VFL subs for orders.....also the APX is no where near a SQL woofer, and FYI those VFL 15s dont like that much space with that much power lastly whats the tuning of your box?

Adjusting gains, playing with box specs/tuning will really help you alot!! I would say the Audioque HD3/DD 95 would be the better choice, because in my testing the APX subs liked TONS of power like say 5k EACH!
