Yeah, I tried it with the door latch in the "up" position (to simulate closed door) and with the door (all doors/hatch) actually closed - neither of them worked. I still think it's interesting that using the key to lock to the door will activate the factory alarm, but manually pushing it down won't. It makes sense since you wouldn't want to arm the alarm while you were driving and stopped to drop of a passenger, per se.Just for shits and giggles.... you are trying to pule this wire with all doors, hood, and trunk closed right? Last I remember Volvo's wouldn't lock with a door open... so you could have the right wire...just wont work because its opened up... just a thought...
I'm going to do a little more research with wire diagrams, specifically with the Volvo's that came with a "Central Door Lock/Unlock" Switch on the dash to figure this out. Mine wasn't equipped with that and there's no "easy way out" harness for it hiding behind one of the blank panels.
So, does anyone have the wiring diagram for the central locking system with the Door Lock/Unlock Switch? The widely circulated Haynes and other manuals are for
Too bad the "logic" behind the central locking relay system isn't simple logic (according to the wiring diagrams.) Volvo seems to like to go around the elbow to get to the thumb, so to speak.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
