94 Honda Civic(sedan,manual *****) vs 99 Chevy Malibu?

I have a chance to get either cars pretty cheap.

Which would you rather have in your driveway for a daily vehicle?

Which one would be easier to work on and cheaper to maintain?

Would insurance be higher than the other car?

My first car at 16 was a 95' honda civic DX and it was a manual. Horrible on hills but otherwise really fun to drive. I think my insurance from the get go was about 40 bucks a month.

depending on your age it can be more or less expensive because all of the younger people want to rice them out and street race them
