90 amp alt

If i do the big 3 with 1/0 wire and run 2 gauge to my directed audio 1500d will my amp still get slaughtered?

there will be no slaughtering -- whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.

1100w from a class D amp should work ok w/that size alt.

I would run 1/0 to the amp, just incase there is some dimming, you have nothing left to upgrade but the batter/alt.

haha ****. I think i'll go with 2 gauge and if i need 1/0 i can put the 2 gauge in my truck and just buy another kit. Glad to hear it'll work though. By slaughter i meant kill my amp.

im running a 1200d on a 90 amp alt with "big 3" done and a yellow top with a little dimming but all in all everything is working fine

How would it kill your amp?

I am sure this isnt what he is thinking of, but low voltage to the amp could kill it over a long period of time.. But I think he is asking if there will be an increased power supply to the amp and it will kill it, if so, then no...

I know voltage problems can kill the amp, I thought he knew somethign I didnt know though.

#1 ouch hahaha but true.

#2 i meant would it kill my alternator. I've heard that if you put to much stress on it that it will die

yup it will mess up an alt though.
