8s in my trunk

I was recommended these by some one. Tang Brand. Anybody know much about those? THey are pretty cheap...and i wanna save money. But if they dont sound good....whats the point. I want smooth woofers. But i wanna hit the lows...hard.

I also found these...they look pretty nice. I hear RE is pretty good stuff...how are they on the SQ end though. I mean 4 woofers will get loud sealed or ported regardless.

as some of you may know...i was looking at 10s, these are 8s. Im try to do one of those infamous SQL/LSQ systems. So its either 4 8sealed or 2 10s ported...but my main thing is that i wanna sound good. The box for the 8s would be around 2.5-3 cu ft. as they dont need much space even at optimal levels as i would also probably uses some polyfil. If i was to go for 10s it would probably be the RE SE or AA Assasin 10s.

the car is a 1977 Buick Regal

as you all can see im not working w/ much trunk space...that box i used was 30.5 x 12 x 12. The box for the 8s would be 36inches wide.

If on a budget the the RE is a pretty nice woofer... My single 10 gets pretty loud on 400watts... As far as SQ, it sounds pretty good... Can't beat the price on em.

I always recommend the Ascendant Audio Assassins when people are looking for some nice budget 8s or 10s.. good deal on those.. sound good and will surprise you on how loud they get..

just fyi, without spending a few more $ you arent going to be hitting any lows hard with a pair of cheap 8's.

just my 2 cents.

Since you want to save money, do 2 10s ported. My recommendation would be 3-4 RE8's ported, or better yet DD 1508s, but it will cost more $$$. I could not be happier with the lows 3 1508's are hitting in my car....coming from a 06 XXX.

If you want big lows, don't do 8's sealed, they just don't drop low enough to really bang with the lows. Ported is another story. Tang band's aren't bad at all, but they aren't that loud...

I say do 2 DD 1510's ported in 2.75ft^3, a little more if you have the space tuned to DD's spec. They'll bang pretty hard for the money and space

ive done a pair of RE SR10s in a 1.5 cu ft sealed off 500 watts and they sounded VERY clean. and hit pretty hard. i would say a pair of them ported and tuned around 34-36 would be very nice

the new ones are rated for 250 watts rms...how many watts would u run to them

but ultimately its down to the dd's, the re se, and the assasins....

what would u guys pick, what box would u run them in, and why?
