8's anyone??

well this is a fail for what i was aiming for but thnx i guess??
Sorry dude, they don't make a pair of "magic" 8in subs that equal the output of a pair of 12in subs(off the same power). Yes, people can be louder with 8''s than 12''s, but that is because of the install/build. With the power you have, you could probably run one of your XXX's and have a box designed for you. You would save space and might be louder, that is if the box you have now isn't a good design.

-_- still not gettin at what im sayin

i dont want "magic 8s" i wanted to GET some 8s and trade them for the XXXs and try some 8s or 10s out.

the box i have now is good its just ****ingg huge so it wont fit in my new car and one of the subs has to be reconed so i am either gona trade the subs for others or try and get the best out of one sub that i cant...

catchin on now?? in simple terms i wanna try something new or get the best out of what i can get out of it and surprise people..

will your amp handle 1 ohm load ?

if so then you might be able to acomplish your goal of having trunk space and being thrifty by simply making your current box for your 2 xxx es in to a box for just one of them. im thinking theyr dual 2 so just wire up one of them and let er rip.

im guessing it will be still verry satisfying to watch that sub play at full tilt.

I got a re8 recently - and altho im not using it in a box - its still not impressive

edit - maby to ppl who know nothing about car stereo stuff it would seem realley cool

but im used to daily driving with a 18" right next to my head so everything will seem weak to me after that I guess

i want a few small subs that will make the same output as the 2 12s but in a smaller package
You're nuts. It takes approx four 8's to equal the cone area of one 12. So you are looking at five or six 8's to equal a pair of 12's. And not even knowing which XXX's you are talking about, I can guarantee the XXX's have more linear displacement potential than any 8 suggested here, so you have that going against you as well. This does not even account for the sound difference, as the XXX's are BL optimized and no 8" DD is.
But Im sure some DD nut hugger will come on and tell me Im stupid because nothing beats DD's. You really want to turn into one of those people? DD1508's are great subs, for 8's, but be realistic. So far, you aren't.

well i kno this guy with 3 10 massive subs with 2 massive 1500s on them and they get just as low as i do.

would that just be a power issue or something else. with his car its just air moving everywhere and with mine its just loud... I WANT TO MOVE SOME HOT DERN URR YO

Well since his has so much less displacement potential than yours, maybe you should find out more about his install.

thats the thing he wont let me see shit on his setup.. all i kno is the way the face of the box looks. subs in a triangle form with the port between the 2 subs on the bottom. just a simple port that goes back. PWK said he had me a design for one XXX but he stopped replying back to my emails =[
