880 PRS ?'s

I have an 880 PRS and i have a few ?'s.

what is required to acheive full output voltage from my rca's?

is that what the SLA FM and CD LEVEL IS?

is it the x over screen for the low that allows you to go to +6 on the low section controlling the sub?

Reason im asking is because i went from a 2v alpine to a 880 prs, and the voltage difference didnt even affect my gains when i reset them. if anything it seemed weaker?

The SLA just increases the volume, so that you can set the FM and CD to different levels so that when you swith between the two you are getting the same volume. As far as the full output of the rca's I believe that they are rated at full volume. I'm not an expert but I believe that you will only get 5 volts at max volume. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will jump in but I've heard that there isn't a huge difference in say a 3volt preout vs. 5volts. How did you set your gains? By ear or with a meter?

i did it by meter, but i was shocked to find that my alpine 2v seemed to be higher on the mids / highs on my multi, but my sub amp went down just a hair

vol on that thing goes up to 62...keep that in mine.

my listening level is about 50-56, depending on the song.

you also have to adjust the xovers correctly

you running active, or passive

well if i get TreyE's 2500D memphis for one of my sae-1000D's plus cash then i be running passive, if i dont get it, ill buy a sundown 100.2 or a diamond d7 2 channel i saw forsale for a great price.

i prob redo my gains around volume 54 on the unit. my crossover is

50 lp @ -24db slope or 63 lp @ -30db slope mid hpf at 63 @ 24, or 80 @ 18. lpf is at 2.5 @ 18 or 2 @ 12 and high hpf 4 @ 18. The system sounds great, but i feel that the voltage is equal to my 2v alpines. The level on the x over screen is set to 0 across the board. sometimes i boost to +1 +2 on the low (subwoofer) SLA at 0. my eq has no boost above +1 from all freq up to 315, and also from 8 - 20khz and i dropped off the 800hz - 2khz freq to -1.

gains are little past halfway on the mutli and a little below on the sub amp. multi crossover is on full and sub amp is being used. it around 50 - 60, subsonic around 29 ported box tuned at 30hz.

What ur settings robin? what ur SLA, and what the level on the crossover screen in terms of -24 to 0 for all but the low which can also go +6.

Turn your sla up to 2. This helped me keep the volume under 40 most of the time. I wouldnt want to go much over 45 for fear of clipping from the hu.

that hu hardly clips...for me the bbe is at -1 and the eq isall over the place....

xover is

sub - 50@24db

mid 50@ 18 db...2k @12db

high 1..6k @ 24db

sla is at 0 across the board...

it was tested on with an oscope and 0dB tones.

HU clips @ volume 62, so set gains @ 61/62.

I would still set gains at a little lower level to keep some headroom for songs that are recorded a little softer...
