RCA's, yes everything was flat.

Your amps have gain knobs for a reason, even if the Pio only output .5v at full tilt it would still be fine. Don't worry about it, just set it to do what you need and run with it. It is a great deck. Personally I set mine up to listen at around 48 but I don't believe in running hot on any gains in any part of my system.
