you guys are talking port length to port width correct, seemed the op was talking port height to width
can we clear this up?
We're talking about the port opening dimensions. I guess width x height would be a better way of wording it rather than saying length. My bad I should have worded it better.

 
you need to do your port area large enough so that you don't get port noise. There's a ratio of height x width of the port and then there's port area as compared to volume.

Area to volume should be around 14:1

Height to width should be around 5:1 or 4:1 like was previously stated.

 
single port is most effective from what I've read here

could you do 10" sono tube?? would take up less internal volume but be long

hm current box is nothing special and 15" high with 2.5" port opening, so your saying that I should have port noise??
