my vote would go to elemental designs e8a, JL 8w7, kicker S8L7, ma audio 800xl??? not sure on model number, but still a nice subwoofer... especially for price.

does the type r even come in an 8'' model?

But I would add the Crystal CMP8, Soundsplinter Rl-i8 and Image Dynamics ID8v3 to the list of very good 8" subwoofers to look into.

But I would add the Crystal CMP8, Soundsplinter Rl-i8 and Image Dynamics ID8v3 to the list of very good 8" subwoofers to look into.
