My friend is looking into getting a carputer. If he removes his cd player, he'll have to buy an amplifier to power his speakers and send signal to them from the carpc. He has a Suzuki Reno with 8 speakers stock (4 mid, 4 tweets). I'm assuming that these cars come stock with a passive crossover and to power these speakers all he would need is a 4-channel amp, and nothing else? I hope this is correct.
While I'm at it, does anyone know how to control the volume from the carpc independently (kind of like a bass remote)? He plans on taking his stock cd player out, likely.
I know the easiest solution is to leave the oem cd player in and use the AUX-in to recieve signal, but if he does this he has nowhere to put the screen...
Cliffs: OEM cars with 8 speakers; do they use passive crossovers? Assuming this, 4-channel amp can power them just fine with no extras?
