8.1 cu. ft.. What will get louder than my 18" Q (for sale...??)

A HDC3 18 might be a better choice if you were looking for more output. I would suggest a pair of HDC3 15s as getting a lil bit louder than the single 18, but you dont have the air space to give them honestly.

How about the Sundown Nightshades? The 15"s only require 2.75 to 3 cubic feet per sub, and would get quite loud off your current amp. They honestly only need 1500w to shine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Another idea would be to downsize subs a bit, a pair of HDC3 12"s would be very loud in that car as well and give you some trunk space back.

I think your boxes are taking up too much space in your trunk and not allowing your subs to "breath" much, hince the lack of output you desire.

Just a few suggestions....good luck man.

BTW, what camera did you record the (2) Type Rs vid with? Looks like it caught the flex very well.

i'm almost tempted to do the 4 10's sealed of some sort... only problem i see is i'd have to do double baffle.. and again, that would take up a lot of room...

What about an 18" BTL off 3000W?? Not enough power maybe??

Camera is a Sony Carl Zeiss dcr-trv19

2 HDC3 15s and a box built by mlstrass will put you where you need to be.
again.. i dunno if I have the room for 2x 15's... plus that may be to much over budget for me...

2 15" Nightshades is by far his best option. It is probably over his budget though, as nightshades are expensive.

2 12" HDC's would be loud, 2 12s is less cone area than one 18". I realize he's doubling the power too, but just throwing that out there

2 12's is less cone area than 1 18??? really??

Ah, that's just kind of a weird arrangement in a trunk for a 18...and probably inhibiting a lot of the output that you think you aren't getting because of absorption into the seat or into the car itself..

oh im sure... which totally sucks, cause when i initially was shopping for a car, that was one of the main criteria i was lookin for, then I saw this car, saw the price/condition, TOTALLY FORGOT about the fold down seat thing... got it home and thought to myself.. "oh crap, i didnt check".. sure enough.. NOPE..

so im kinda thinkin this..

A. 18" RE MT ( dunno if its a daily pounder though)

B. 18" FI BTL

C. 18" HDC3 (if they make one)

D. 4 10" Kicker CVX's (320 bucks new)

E.. 2 15's which require only about 3.5cu. ft. each that I have yet to find

F... someone mentioned 2 15" Q's would work in 7 cu. ft NET.

as i said.. im open to suggestions... just trying to get louder with the space I have... or i'd even consider goin back to the RRRRRRRR's

i can see your shifter from that first pic, so there is a hole via armrest in the back seat right?

maybe but the port where the armrest is and do a blowthrough, it may help.

just a suggestion.

btw you can get refurbed cvx's on hifisoundconnection for cheaper, i bought two and they never gave me problems.
