Whats up guys.

Just trying to put together some ideas, and figure out my options...

I'm looking for a setup that can get a little louder than my current setup which is an 18" FI Q w/BP @2 ohms... probably taking around 1500+ Watts now.

Enclosure is 7.1cu. ft. NET w/ 3x 4" Aeros.

I'd like to get a little louder. If I got a 15" BTL w/ BP does that have potential to get louder?? Or 2 12" Q's... something along those lines.

If 7.1 cu. ft is enough for 2x 15's.. please list what would fit well in that amount of space. Thanks!

18" SPL or AQ are also others i've been thinkin of.

The Q MAYBE FOR SALE if I can find an option that I like.

Vids now posted http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=350167

AQ HDC3 18 on 1500-2000 watts in that sized box tuned to 38- 40 hz would get pretty loud
I know, but would it get louder than my current setup.. in theory... I know its hard to say, but im just wondering in general if the HDC3 is know to be a louder sub
do you have a power limit? more subs.... 3 12's 4 10's, cone area would remain about the same but you could run 4000-5000w if you were running the aq's
I have 3000watts @1 ohm to work with... don't want to spend much more money after I sell the Q. I was almost thinking 4x10" kicker crx's since they are cheap and seal em.
do you have any actual numbers for us to quantify what "louder" means //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
no numbers... don't care about numbers... I would just like to get a little louder than my Q is right now... I like how it hits at it's peak...but I want some wiggle room after that.. know what i mean.
Guys, can you choke your trunk w/ a big box, or is that all BS... cause that could also be an issue for me. Open to all suggestions

Would tuning it higher (45hz) give me more output??

If you're cool with mlstrass, see if he will make you a box. He is familiar with FI subs and if you go with AQ 18s he made a box for sleepy_jr for 2 of those. He stays up by Great America, but it is worth the trip.

seal it up and put 4 type R 15's in there ://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Or 3 ported at 29 Hz:crazy:

jk, I know you sold your type R stuff (I think).

I have a feeling that either the HDC3 d2 al 18" or two 15" d1 coppers on 3kw will get much louder than a single 18" Q on 1500w. You may need to fiddle with the tuning, making it a little higher.

i know 2 15's will most likely be louder, BUT i dunno if i have room for them.. i'd need to get a sub that only needs like 3.5cu. ft. to do that PROPERLY

i kinda want to try tuning higher, but I want some input first, and I know FI recommends tuning 28-30hz.

I'd say 2 15" HDC's, but don't think you have enough port area and aren't tuned high enough. Build another box, slot port and fire it forward into the cabin...
the only space to fire into the cabin is the arm rest hole...the rest of the back is sealed prettywell except for the back speaker holes... My concern with slot port is it takes up extra space that I don't know if I can afford to lose, thats why I went Aero's in the first place.

You think its ok to tune this sub higher?

Do you think I have room for 2 15" HDC3's?

4 cheap 10's sealed??... just throwin ideas out there
