I have approximately 100 of these Solex Solar batteries available for sale, theyre 70ah group 24 (i believe) batteries.. theyre all brand new in box, they came from some business that shut down and liquidated their stock.. they measure 10.25 x 6.625 x 8.375 (not including post height).. they weigh 50 lbs each and the few I have at my house rest at 12.5v, 12.6v and 12.5v.. im asking $100 shipped each my zip is 75662 and the weight is listed so you can estimate shipping, I will charge actual shipping.. if you want a large quantity just PM me regarding how many you want and the price will probably be discounted depending on amount.. I'm about two hours from the DFW area and about an hour from Shreveport, Louisiana so if you are in the area and want some just pm me, I'm willing to meet ya halfway, even if youre up to 4 hours away id be willing to drive 2 hours there to meet.. umm the model number of it is BATGEL1004.. It appears that they were produced around august 2009, but all are charged and tested before being sent out..

I only got images of the few that are at my house, here they are...

how exactly do you use that type of post?

to confirm what i was talking about earlier these posts are able to be used as standard battery posts meaning you can put a d-block on the post and itll fit securely or you can use the screw and nut and connect ring terminals so in essence you have the best of both worlds

heres a pic of the knu konceptz D-block i got on the battery.. it fit perfectly and securely without any wiggle once i tightened it on there, basically the post is the normal round size with a hole in it to connect ring terminals and its flat on 1/5 of the front and 1/5 of the back so the ring terminals would connect flush if you use the screw + nut..

fyi i didnt push the D-block all the way down onto the post because i didnt feel like having to then get it back off of there and put it back on my battery in my car but it was about 75% down and was just dandy.

ask the cat, he supervised the whole thing

i dont believe they are quite 10in tall, i have 8 3/8" written down but that isnt including the post so it may be near 10in.. yeah it fits under the hood of my mustang no problems..

ill doublecheck the height of my old stock battery and let ya know its height compared to these, it didnt seem like much of a difference but then again i didnt pay much attention..

if it is somehow too tall for your vehicle you may check and see if you can make it fit by laying it on its side because on its side itd only be 6 5/8" tall and usually the space for the battery is pretty clear and without the posts its 8 3/8" tall so youd just have to measure and see..

maybe im mistaken and theres more than one kind of sealed battery, I have been under the assumption that any sealed, non-spillable battery was AGM/gel cell but maybe im wrong.. im going to google it to figure it out

okay well apparently theres some difference in AGM and 'gel cell' batteries, but they are both VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid) batteries but have some differences in internal design.. AGM and Gel batteries are the only two VRLA batteries but it looks like AGM is the newer style thats all the hype but it just depends on the application for which theyre going to be used.. im no expert nor do i claim to be so I may be incorrect, but these are Gel batteries, which isnt EXACTLY the same as AGM, so my apologies for before when I assumed that AGM and gel cell were synonymous and said these were AGM..

looks like the main beef with Gel batteries vs AGM is the voltage rate in which you have to recharge it.. either way its 70ah for basically $1 per ah plus shipping.. the shipping may drop here in the next day or two if i can manage to ship these in a large flat rate box.. I am gonna see what USPS says tomorrow..

AGM have a higher discharge and re-charge rate. Thats what makes them such a better battery. Hence why Kinetik, powermaster, NSB, etc use the technology. Gel cells are like the optima batts. Still good batts just not AGM type. Good deal no matter what

AGM is a battery in which the electrolyte is absorbed into a mat of fine glass fibers. the plates in an AGM battery may be flat like a wet cell lead-acid battery in a rectangular case. in cylindrical AGMs, the plates are thin and wound, like most disposable and rechargeable cells, into spirals so they are also sometimes referred to as spiral wound. their unique (for lead-acid chemistries) construction also allows for the lead in their plates to be purer as they no longer need to support their own weight as in traditional cells. Their internal resistance is lower than traditional cells due to plate proximity and the pure lead plates have lower resistivity, they handle higher temperatures better, and self-discharge more slowly

Their specific power is very good and they can be charged and discharged quite rapidly, however their specific energy tends to be lower than traditional flooded batteries. They are often used in high performance electric vehicles due to their high power density.

Gell Cell also a VRLA(valve-regulated lead-acid battery) is not the same . it is gelified electrolyte... gel. Gel batteries last longer cause they dont evaporate and has greater resistance to temperatures, shock, and vibration. Chemically they are the same as wet (non-sealed) batteries except that the antimony in the lead plates is replaced by calcium.
