7 speakers and 4 channels

I have a Chevy Tahoe and have replaced most of the audio system. Currently I have a new 4 channel head unit. The head unit has an outlet for a subwoofer, so I replaced the factory subwoofer and ran new wiring to the new sub, bypassing the factory amplifier. Also, I have replaced the 4 door speakers and bypassed the factory amplifier completely. The Chevy Tahoe also comes with two factory tweeters in the rear pillars. The factory wiring sends a mono signal to them. I want to replace those with small full range speakers and wire them into the rear channel. How can I add these two speakers to the system? I thought I could split the rear signal with an amp to power the rear door speakers and rear pillar speakers, but it did not work. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks,
