i have no idea why, i unhooked them to use just my frontstage. now with the extra bass, i need more music fill. i hooked them back up but no sound. i checked my headunit, all wires connected. checked the 6x9's, also connected. just no sound at all. also, my headunit wont fade front to rear. why is this? ugh.

um longshot.... there was a feature that pioneer decks had back in the day called FIE and if thats on it either turned down or off the rear outputs. it could be that.

or maybe the deck has a built in crossover and its turned on and crossing out all the sound. or your subs have been playing under the 6x9s and they are blown from the pressure.

i would start with your multimeter and check for the right ohms on the driver. if they read good maybe try another deck or a speakerwire from anything else to see if they play.

i noticed they didnt play before i hooked them up actually. i hooked them up right before the install because it would have been a pain to do it with all the amps and sub box in the trunk. so it couldnt have been the subs. ill check out the headunit functions and see what i can come up with. any other suggestions??

have you tried hooking them up to another source? if they dont work take them out and your box will be louder since the trunk will have a "port" then

ok i just did some stuff. i switched my frotn AUX RCA's to my rear output. both my front components played, and my 6x9's. i put the front aux rca's back into the front slot, and the rear doesnt play anymore. defective headunit?

can you not leave it this way and have it work? or is something else unhooked that shouldnt be?

yes i can leave it this way, but i need my 6x9's to play. i need more highs, i cant turn up my volume because the bass drowns out my front stage. i need something to fill in some more music. everything is properly hooked up.

um i know youll laugh but have you thought about turning down the subs to make the mids "get louder" to make it sound even?

i have the driver set where i want it. some songs are fine, but the ones with massive bass really drown out my frontstage. but thats not the issue. the issue is my 6x9's wont play with my AUX in my front input, only the rear. and also, when theyre in the front aux, i cannot fade front or rear. when its in rear, i can fade, but when i fade front, everything goes way (because its on the rear output) so i need to be able to have them both play while on the front auxilary, and i want to know why i cannot fade front to rear while its in this mode

sounds like something with you and your deck. have you looked at the manual to see if it gives you any options?

does pioneer.com have old manuals in PDF like most other manufacturers?

good luck with it ill talk to you later

i fixed it, switched my REAR to Full Range. Subs play, components play, 6x9's play. its all good now. thanks for the help. the 5900iB manual helped me figure that one out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
