6x9's or 6.5's....Which sound better?

Looking to install a aftermarket audio system in a 70 Roadrunner convertible I recently purchased. Going to install a speaker in each of the front doors along with speaker in the trim panel on each side of the rear seat.

Have plenty of space in the front doors to install up to a 6x9 speaker in each. Been looking at Infinity line (been using them for a long time, mostly 6.5's and 5.5's...... ) first time have I had space for a 6x9 in the front doors. Wondering which sound better bass wise?...Would think the larger 6x9's would put out a bit more bass then the 6.5's.........looking at the pricing for the Infinity Kappa series and the 6x9's cost less then the 6.5's.......wondering why

Normally, you can expect better bass response from the 6x9 speaker but less omnidirectional sound dispersion in the upper mid-range. If you're looking at coaxial 6x9 take a look at Hybrid Audio Mirus or Hybrid Audio Imagine. The Mirus in particular is quite affordable and it shares its design with Imagine, which cost a lot more.
