6x9 subs?

quit calling it Lanzar. They aren't Lanzar, they're Vibe. Vibe Audio is predominantly a UK company. Those are nice for 6x9s but still suffer from the 6x9 design at high excursions. Just get a good 6.5 subwoofer like the Tang Band 6.5subwoofer.

how do you reason they will suffer at high excursions....? so do the square kickers suffer at high excursions? You better have something good to back up that comment

2x ya thats pretty goofy....now there is some inherit stress problems with the design vs. round but it has nothing to do with non linearity at high excursion.

anyways here is a better pic of the Vibes

Ultra Linear makes a 6x9 sub too

Lanzar DID make a 6x9 subwoofer at one time, who knows if they're still being produced.

Genesis makes a 6x9 thats completely SQ orientated, and has the price tag to match.

Alpine made 6x9 subs back in the late 80's...you can sometimes still find them (and if you do email me asap, lol)

Dong Yuan makes the beefiest I think ive seen, comming in at 250w a sub

i remember the kickers...if you can find them...model # f6x9c...there is also ultralinear...http://www.ultralinear.com/productcatalog.cfm?class=376&prodtype=car scroll down to the bottom of the page...lanzar did also make a 6x9 subwoofer, but that was also a couple years ago...they are discontinued...i would try ebay.

i have the TB, and they dont suffer at all at high excursion.... check the vids...
clearly it was an ignorant post. There are quite a few high end home systems that use oval drivers that cost $30k+ so apparently someone else thinks we're right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

what the hell is up with the ultra linear frequency response 80-1K hz?????? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

i'd rather take TB's 35-500...

but i really like Vibes, i'll have to do more research on that...and more thinking

Well, the suspension of a 6x9 (see the surround) could actually become non-linear at high excursion, but this is the ONLY inherent issue with 6x9's and can easily be defeated by using a flexible surround.
