I am replacing the infinity 6x9 speakers I have installed currently in my 1969 Camaro in my back deck under the rear window. I know I can cut it out to fit different size speakers but I want to see what I can find for 6x9's. NEW OR USED! pref recent year model USED. Any opinions or advice for this install would be much appreciated. The amp driving this will be around 100@4 ohms or 150@2ohms. Thank you in advance!

I've been looking at 6x9 midbass options for a little while now...it seems the best offerings are Image Dynamics XS-69's, orCDT Audio actually has a range of different 6x9 woofers; some geared more towards midbass/sub-bass and others more towards midbass/midrange.

Morel has just released a 6x9 Tempo series comp set that looks really nice and is sure to sound outstanding.

There are also the less expensive but ever popular Kicker 6x9 midbass speakers all over Ebay.

Yet another option is to take a standard 2way coax 6x9(such as Morel Maximo 69c) and just de-solder the tweeter and cap and use it as a midbass driver.

It's really a matter of budget and what specifically you need the drivers to do.

We've got CDT MX-69S in stock for $149, or CL-69 for $99. Both are new with a 1 year warranty. These are not my best options if you want lots of bass from 6x9s, but they're in stock ready to ship today.

For my installation I am driven towards LOUD... like loud enough to hurt your ears loud, yet I don't like the sound of an aluminum tweeter as the harshness destroys me. I was wanting the 6x9's to be mainly midbass / midrange considering I am going to have two 10's in the back and wanted the 6x9's to be coax to keep a decent rear fill to add to the loudness. In the future I will be installing extra tweeters to the pillars or 4"s to the kick panels I have yet to decide.
