I'm just wondering, for those of you who have experience with this particular subwoofer - the kicker c12, 150rms 300 peak, how much power can they really handle?

My amp is being switched out from one that fed it about ~140rms to one that is ~600rms at 4 ohms.

Just until my new sub install of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's what I was going to do, i was just curious in the meantime (have a few hours before i pick it up - they're also doing a leveling job) as to what the rms on it would be truly.

I've seen some people give it around 600rms before

only true way to test it out is to clamp test it with a fluke clamp meter. whatever leveling job they do will not tell you the rms the sub is running at because it sounds like they are just setting your gains either via ear or multi-meter.

Lol man, leveling job like a lift kit to the suspension. That's why it's taking a few hours for me to get it back, rather than the 30 if they were just doing the amplifier. Sorry wasn't clear :p

But yeah ill just play with the gain and edge it up at the volume i want, i hope to get it about half way.

Lowering the impedance will also lower the speakers motor control, or damping, in physics no free lunch exists. It’s all give and take.
