600hp Evo vs 600hp Cobra, who would win?

Its funny how you guys put down jap shitters.... they use an engine thats about a half or a third the capacity but are just as fast, handle **** loads better even in standard form and in NZ evo's and gtr's do 12's with only an exhaust and a pod filter... on absolute **** tracks.

Strange thing is that the fastest track 'cars' in the world come out of japan...

please elaborate on what a track car is to you. are you talking about race cars or are you talking about factory built race cars with a street version of the same car.

strange...cars that were cheaper did 12's stock... and with only a pulley and exhaust, could hit 11's...(TA and cobra)

Jmac's gotcha man.....

Im sorry your alive.

Sorry i was half asleep when i wrote that....

Is that right? Well i have been misinformed then. How much do TA's and cobra's cost brand new and secondhand? An evo in nz cost about $10kUS for an evo1... new ones about 30-35kus (double i think for nz).. all capable of 12's easy..

In regards to track cars, i was talking about road registered cars... once again i was half asleep when i wrote it. Not full on tubed cars or full race cars... but road cars. I.e. they have lots of 900horsepower road registered track race cars..

Yes true, porsches are pretty quick.. ive seen a few quick ones even here in nz.. Mmmm GT3's....

Ill go back to sleep now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

LOL - owned!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Those are all the european cars though.... im sure a modified GTR would do better than the 15th place (7:46).. thoughts?

What sorta car is this: Donkervoort 270 RS (7:18)

Cheers for that dude!!! Those GTR's would all be standard though... no fair :p

Im just bias though cos i like jap crap....hehe I'd like to see a modified GTR go round there... like the race ones in japan, then not doubt we'd see it get in that top list.

What sorta track race cars are there in the US other than the ones that go round in a circle?

That Donkervoort is like the kit cars you can buy isn't it? Most people here in nz put 1.6L Toyota motors in them.

Thats surprising that a supra is the top modified, i didn't think they were really that suited to a track environment because of there weight etc.... that blitz supra is pretty nice though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A Z28(same engine as TA) was 19k US new. Cobra was low-mid 30's. Like what an EVO costs-ish.

Both cars ran 12's stock.TA more consistent 13.0-13.2.

since I always do, i'll do it again

cobra > z28 or any t/a around a road course.

IRS > you.

can we talk about drag racing now?

what's the fastest evo in the world doing on the ol' 1/4 mile?

I'd bet my soul that it's nowhere near the american iron.

Btw, marley I'm sure you're familliar; has anyone else seen pat musey's camaro run?

can we say low 6 second slip?

(i've seen it in person :-D)

I dunno what the IRS was about, but I agree. vette>cobra. IRS+lightweight=>you.

fastest evo...dunno...i dont think its any faster than 10's, because the fastest STi is in the 10's.

they say the 60' times on AWD make it so much better....lets see 1.3, 1.2.1.1,.1.4 60' times consistent on AWD cars... it dont happen, but w/ RWD it does.

pay musey's camaro? If I saw it I'd probably recognize it.

tyler the fastest DSM i believe is an 8 second. I saw the video of the run i dont have it anymore though.
Yep there are 2 Evo's in NZ running 8's.... also 4 gtr's in 8's...

No imports below that... fastest is a datsun coupe at a 8.24 i think. Not really enough power to run must faster i would think... no doubt someone will hits 7's but who knows when. Tracks in NZ **** too...

Need the big ole' V8's or rotarys to go any faster. Geez the fastest cars in NZ are early-mid 6's....

What are your guys thoughts about that video?

fastest WRX in australisia is late 8 something i think in aussie. Lots more fast evo's around than STI's...

I think the RWD is better with low times because you can Tub them whereas the jap shitters you can't. Your restricted to pretty thin tyres/profiles.

my thoughts are that I need a cobra so I can show people how to do it right //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D

I want a whipple cobra with an aeromotive fuel system and msd digital, paired with a nice bassani custom exhaust and a steeda stage 3 race suspension w/ 5 link rear.

Get some trick flow twisted wedge heads custom port job, some custom grind cams, forged pistons, new crank.... bah.

Go to fuel****.net - fastest car there is a 959 rwhp stang with only a single turbo on it.

Marley: musey's camaro runs low 6's - they have some retarded juice on it...... some kind of 99-stage wet setup on a massive motor.

edit: I hate how s1ut is censored.....

it's http://www.fuel****.net

first off guys i own an evo so i know what it's capable of. off the line ill spank anyone rear wheel drive car. but they will eventually catch up top end. depending on how much hp they are making.

when racing off a roll. the evo has a very bad disadvantage cause it's all wheel drive. there is alot of power lost through the drivetrain. but it'll still hold it's own. even though it's basically repetative from what other have said. i have taken the new GTO and cobra off the line. but they usually catch up around 4th gear which is about 105+ mph. so it really doesnt matter ill take most cars stock. all depends on driver and the launch
