anyone know what size a power wire should be for a 600 watt rms amplifier is?
6 awg ok?

Only if you never plan on adding anything else. If you plan on adding any other components, run the 1/0 now...you'll be thankful later. It's a complete waste of money buying that much 0 Gauge. 4 Gauge is overkill, and will be more than adequate.
Even if he's running components, those will draw no more than 300W, which is about 25A; that on top of the 50A that the subs will be drawing is nowhere NEAR the 125A limit of the wire.Only if you never plan on adding anything else. I believe I mentioned "future-proofing" in my first post. If he ever wanted to add any more amps, I don't think he would want to power everything off of a 4 gauge wire. That's where it would be nice to have the 1/0. I never implied that he needed the 1/0 for his current setup.Even if he's running components, those will draw no more than 300W, which is about 25A; that on top of the 50A that the subs will be drawing is nowhere NEAR the 125A limit of the wire.
