What amazes me is all these people on here who get tickets, yet the only times I've ever been stopped is for when I've been doing something clearly illegal, and I knew I was at fault. I've gotten two speeding tickets in the past week -.-

Ironically, the second was on a road that typically never has cops, and most go over the speed limit. I was the unlucky one to first come across the cop. The first was 11 over in a school zone, so I was fully at fault there. A $222 fine though seems a bit much -.-

if a cop has no power on a accident on private property like a parking lot then they dont have power on your car running in your drive way. just got to court and say it was remote started and thats legal.

Remind them of that on the day that you have to call them when all your gear gets stolen.

cop pulled in your drivewaytell them you are pressing charges for trespassing on private property.

The problem here is that the guy gave the officer a reason to come onto the property in the first place with the noise violation or the unattended running vehicle. Ticket earned.

i just got out of all 3/4 of my tickets yesterday at trial.
fight it, do not fight the noise, just send the paper in saying u plead not guilty to the unattended car ticket.

the law is the law in the eyes of the judge

that is the only way to get a full dismissal out of it ^, otherwise the judge will not dismiss it, they just might lower the fine.

^^^^ This guy advocates lying to the judge in order to get off. Wow, just wow. Ever heard of dash cams? Ever heard of officer notes? Ever heard of officer safety, one of the first things they do is see who is in the car..... No need to remind everyone not to take any kind of advice from you, sure way to lose for sure. Hope you get caught in your own lie one day, you sure deserve it.

If you don't like how the police do their job due to the laws in your state or country, don't whine about the police. They are doing their job with the laws that are written by your elected government. Don't like the law, run for office and have the laws changed. You guys have to take the good with the bad, just like everyone else. I might agree that there are some real BS laws out there that are antiquated or are totally flawed, but, until they are rewritten, there it not much to do about it. It is your right to fight for sure, nobody can take away that right.

did she know you had a remote start?? because it IS illegal to leave a car un-attended IF the keys are in the car, which she may have thought they were. But regardless...while in you're driveway... thats some hardcore BS

That's ridiculous. That's one thing I would go to court to fight. I mean the car is your property so you may do with it as you please. Some people don't want to sit in a car and freeze while the car warms up. That is insane.

remote starts are fine you cant leave the KEYS the car while running and walk away. the 1 thing is you can on UR property but nowhere else.

first thing you should have said get off my property without a warrent and if he didnt back off then call the other police dept(sherrif,trooper which ever he wasnt) and say i am being harrassed.

another thing you can do if go see ur local judge before court and tell him what has happened and that you were harrassed.

trust me i went thru worse then this when i was younger i showed no respect to the revenew collectors(cops). if that same cop writes u soon after tell the judge, file a complaint and that will be the LAST time he will bug u.

1. As the OP was breaking the law, the officer had cause to enter the property at that time. He did not need a warrant.

2. Citing an individual for unlawful conduct is not harassment.

1. The judge won't speak to you. The best you can hope for is a short discussion with the court clerk who'll most likely laugh uncontrollably.

To the OP, lots of bad advice here. It sounds to me like your neighbors are tired of hearing your two 15's pound away and called the cops on you.

Stop bumping in your neighborhood. Those 15's can be heard a long way away, even at "low" volume. Low frequencies carry.
