with all these cars coming out with 6 speaker systems stock, will we soon see the aftermarket HUs with 6 speaker outputs.

Doubt it. A lot of those "6 speaker systems" are just a pair of components up front with whizzer cone co-axials in the back. Nothing different the aftermarket ccomponents up front and aftermarket co-axials in the back.......which is what most people do, and doesn't need anymore than 4 channels of amplification.

Why do you think 6 speakers is a good idea just because car manufacturers do it? There's nothing special about 6 speakers in a stereo signal situation. In fact, as a rule of thumb, adding more speakers complicates the sound setup, and more often than not hurts imaging and staging.

But if you mean surround sound (5.1 or 6.1), I dont think Ive heard of any new cars with surround systems, nor do I suspect we'll see many heads with a surround procssor in them any time soon. There are outboard 12v surround processors available however.

never thought it was that speacial. I like my front stage and just woofers in ther rear.

just seemed that a lot of cars coming out say 6 speaker and it made me think.

not untill technology makes it possible to fit more power into a single DIN slot. When you can put a true 200watts RMS or so into a deck, I'm sure companies will come out with 6-channel/7-channel stuff.
