6 Speakers...1 Amp

Ok I tried to search for some info on doing this but Im not sure I found what Im looking for...heres what Im trying to do.

I have a Nissan Maxima that came with the Blose system. It has 6 speakers 2 front comps,2 rear co-ax and 2 rear 6x9 subs. I'm considering buying a RF T8004 from a member here,so that will be the amp in this equation. I have ID XS65's for my comps and some Alpine Co-ax speakers in the rear and 2 Orion 6x9 subs on the rear deck. Can I wire the 2 co-ax and the 2 6x9 together and run off of the rear channel of the amp? I like the 6x9's for some extra mid bass because a lot of the music I listen to does nt have enough sub bass in it..(80's metal mainly)

I know what everyone is going to say...ditch the rears and just run the fronts. I have a friend who runs all six speakers in his Maxima and to be honest it sounds pretty **** good. It took him a lot of tinkering but it sounds good...

You could always wire it up and compare running all six to running only fronts. It really does sound better up front and amping your speakers will give them quite a bit more punch, so might not need that much midbass.

This is what I want to do. I need to experiment myself so I can see what I like and what I dont. To answer my question,is the way I want to wire it possible?

there is a way you can run all of them. ditch the crossovers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif my t8004 has crossover points up to 5khz! so you can run active without any other interface. one thing you would have to do is ditch the alpines in the back and get another comp set or just mids. assuming all the speakers have the same impedance, then you could wire the left side mids and 6x9's to one channel and then the left to another then all the tweets to the remaining two channels.

Thanks Don...great info. Seems a little complicated to me though.

I dont know what I was thinking, the Alpines are a comp set,I just have them set up as a co-ax setup. Im pretty sure all the speakers are 4 ohm. Running active is something Ive always wanted to do,I think Im a little intimidated by it. I think if I saw a diagram that would make it a little easier to understand.

running active simply means using an electronic crossover as apposed to a passive crossover. the beauty about running active is you can run as many mids as your amp can handle! with passive you have to have a passive crossover dedicated for each mid and tweet with the correct values. let me get my paint on for you lol

You can run the rear speakers off of the 6x9, I recommend bass blockers on the smaller spkrs, so you get the lows out a bit more from the rears. They are cheap on e-bay, I just picked up a set for like $6 shipped, and came with heat shrink???Something to consider, Id even do the front speakers too.Just my opinion:D

dont need that when running active. thats what a crossover is for.

i read the whole thing ( now my eyez hurt)
lol its great factual information! soak it up! im a big passive fan actually! im giving active another go. reason being i have fun building passive crossovers! The crossovers that come with just about every entry to mid level component set ****! they simply do the job. i know for a fact of many that have a -6db slope (yikes!) and use the cheapest of components yet they charge up the *** for the component set. its one thing to fork out a bunch of money for a nice component set but its another to fork out so much and get cheap crossovers. a mid and tweet are only as good as their crossover
