6" mids vs. a CDT HD52 and what are good 6" mids?

Shop I am dealing with said I could fit a 6" mid in my door where I have the CDT HD52's in there now. They are sounding pretty good with the extra power now! However.... Wondering if stepping up to a 6" mid that will fit in my door opening would be worth it? Who makes some of the best 6" mids? Other question is I love the CDT tweets that are flush mounted in my doors and would want to keep them. What in all needs changed if I can find a 6" mid that will go a little more?

That depends on the woofer.. You may be able to use the existing crossover but that depends on how you mount the 6 and the high freq rolloff. and maybe some personal preference. or you can go active and eliminate the passive cross.
