6" flared port help

If you want to make the length shorter, use one flare.
That defeats the purpose of the flared port.

You need the overall length of the port to be 10", from end to end. So stack the two flared ends together, measure it, and subtract that number from 10. That is how long you need the tube to be.

That's not quite accurate with the Precision ports BJ. The flares measure 6" total, but only 5" are effective.

OP, your tube needs to be cut to 5".

Thanks. One more question though, since the diameter of the port is 6", should I leave at least 6" of clearance from the end of the flare to any inside walls?

Precision ports calculator accounts for this. It gives both a straight port length, and a flared port length. I assumed the OP knew he was dealing with a flared port...

Let me restate on what I meant by that. If he is pressed for space, use 1 flare to save space because part of the flare is not usable port area.
That would work Buck, but it would be kinda senseless to spend $30+ on a port and not get the advantage. Might as well use regular PVC vs. using only one flare.
