6-l7's Is Rediculous?

yea 92gm i was thinkin the same thing it would be one hell of a box to build.what did u say your 3L7's were hittin on db mic.cant remember if u said u had it tested or not,so to the guys that think recommd 3instead of 6 how about 4 instead of 3 i wanna go with an even numbr. i think this would look better.but not just for looks, how would 4 sound compared to 3. also r u guys thinking ported?

I have 3 in a vented enclosure and my truck fell apart. I never had it metered but that dam thing was loud. It sounded good in the sense that it was all just a nice clean booming sound inside and outside the truck. No rattling, no extremely audible distortion, bno bottoming out, just good clean bass. It was heard for blocks away and when I went to the shopping centers you could litarally see the front glass on the store front flexing in and out...that was great.

In my opinion it's not impossible to shatter glass but I THINK BUT NOT SURE that to shatter glass it takes a very high frequency. I think it's something about its resonant frequency or soemthing like that... I saw it on tv once on Mythbusters. In theory I think the SPL from multiple woofers can shatter the glass but I think it is not worth it for a daily driver.

you're the only person other than my best friend that has ever said that lol. good band IMO. seen them live at a smaller venue here and atcually met the bass player and drummer while they were eating and we sat and chilled upon them.

shattering glass in a car is about 99% impossible. I say that b/c you don't want to shatter the glass unless you're a retart lol. How much power did you have on the 3 L7 15"s? Making glass move on a store is something i've never seen/heard of unless you were right up on the glass. Best I did with my old Jimmy was pop the rear window latch out when i had my 2 first run SeXXX's of my modded D300HC. Then again the box was 44 wide by 36 deep and 17 tall.

your right.. I'm not talking about middle ofthe parking lot thing. I was parked right in the store front facing the store I would say about maybe 7 or 8 feet away from the front end of my truck to the glass. I had an Orin 2500d running at 1 ohm about 2893 watts rms @ 1 ohm.( Now if I can only find that birth sheet...I can get you the exact wattage of the amplifier)

i shook my friends house windows with a 15" Treo CSX with about 2400 watts in a 4.2ft^3@35hz and i was about 20ft away from his house, but it was also a old P.O.S. house...

look on realmofexcursion steave meade has a vid of him doing it with 4 re mt 18s and 16 fostgate amps. If your set on the kickers then go ahead, but with that room your output with 18s would just be insane, I hope plan on getting a ho alt or 2 with a few batteries and a good amount of 0 guage wire
