hi all

im looking into building a box to hold 4 6.5s that ive got laying around. i want the box to go from the middle of the bottom of the dash(where my cigarette lighter is, under my radio), to where my middle cupholders are in my truck. (ive got a 2005 gmc canyon ext cab.) i decided to do this jus 2 get more sound out of it cheaply, using things i have laying around( a set of type R components and a set of type R coaxials). anyway, im wondering how many cu. ft. they could need per speaker and if it would even matter. if anyone else is interested in this, i am willing to take pictures of the construction and install or make a diagram for you.

thanx

max

What do you mean why? Because he wants to. And I wouldnt be that concerened about the airspace, just make that bish. I would prolly deaden the inside of the console. Fiberglassing or angling the speakers would prolly be a good idea too. Make sure to take pics!

why put all 4 in the middle? why not space them out? or something...make the sound 'fuller' ? if most of the sound is coming from the middle in the center console, it wont sound very good imo.

ive got good door speakers

n no

they will be powered by a rockford fosgate amp that i have

im jus tryin 2 get more sound out of it. they have pretty good midbass. so it will go nicely once i get my sub in (HDC315)

Yes, 6.5" subs will work. Example:

A 6.5" array as a midbass unit will work. You can probably highpass to them somewhere around 50-60hz from the main substage. Then low pass them to the mids where it sounds best.

interesting

i dont kno if i got that much room to use there tho...

i think ima build this up real quick and see how it works out and if i dont like it, scrap it n use the type Rs for somethin else.

so yeah

im deciding to build it after all just for the hell of it...

i ordered my Boston Pro60s too. theyre on the way. (got em for 275 new)

anyone kno where 2 get the carpet to cover this box in to match my truck? i want it to look nice.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
