Hey guys, looking for a set of midbass/midrange drivers to pair with my HAT L1v2 tweets. Like to stay under $150 shipped to 75287 and nothing too crazy. I only have about 100 watts on tap.

Man I would but I dont think I can fit over 3" depth in my doors. I have a brace that goes right behind the speaker opening........

SQ. HD-6 is probably the loudest mid they offer at 93.1 dB sensitivity. It's a reference quality driver.

Never used any Dayton stuff. What is your impression of them? Frequency range looks good but power handling and sensitivity seem low.

I've owned a few Dayton Ref 8's(alum cone) and used as dedicated mid-bass. I ran them actively crossed from 60hz-250hz and gave em about 100rms each...they sounded fantastic. I'm currently figuring the logistics of putting the 8inch paper version in my new car.

The 7inch may give you a lil more cone area than the other speakers you're considering as well.

Just one to consider.

Ok thanks! I am concerned about the mounting depth being over 3". I will have to double check how much room I have.
