6.5" in 05 f-150?

Considering replacing my 6x8 reference components in search of some midbass. I have ordered adaptors in 5.25" and 6.5" sizes. I would prefer to use 6.5" components but not sure they will fit without major mods. The speakers are recessed about 2" in a 6X8 opening. Anyone installed 6.5's in 05 f-150?

Considering Rainbow SLCs, Germs or BA Pros. Suggestions on 5.25" and 6.5"?

go for the 6.5"s they will fit.. Depending on the speaker you will need to do a tiny (1/4") amount of trimming on the plastic molding. Which is hidden behind the speaker grill..
