Well I have a set of JL XR 650CSi currently and the right side is damaged so I need a new set of 6.5" components for around $100-150. I was thinking of just picking of the Phoenix Gold RSD65 for $87. Are people still happy with these speakers and the midbass they produce? I have read a ton of positives about them. Let me know what speakers you guys think I should get. Thanks.

Will be powered by my Alpine MRP F-250 amp

# 4-channel car amplifier

# 40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (50 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)

# 100 watts RMS x 2 bridged output at 4 ohms (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)

the new Shok Industres CB 6.5 are being pre-ordedred right now

jump on it now and its $99.99 +shipping compared the a retailers price of like $270

They are supposed to be pretty good

What kind of power do you plan on putting to them?

I liked the RSD's while I had them, no complaints really besides one crossover failure and a few tweeter failures. The tweeters were my fault though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Never tried these myself, but heard they sounded great:

How did you like the JLs while they worked?

I posted my amp above, it says 40rms x 4 but I am pretty sure its underrated. I will check out those CDT's.

CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5, you will not be disappointed.

I have 2 sets of these, one I have never taken out of the box and 1 I am keeping for rear fill once I finish installing a new front stage.

They are excellent! Best available for less than $200.

pm me if these interest you and I could save you some $ on a brand new set. Bought them from woofersetc.

If not I will put them in the sale section once I take some pics.

Lol was that amp always posted in the OP? If so my bad for not seeing it haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Yoiu don't have the capability of going active do you? I've found with an Active headunit and buying the speakers seperate from a site like partsexpress usually gives you much more control over your sound and can be quite a bit cheaper then buying a very high-end component set.

This also, but I don't think it fit the price range which is why I didn't recommend. Those CTX components sound great.

But, ID OEM mids with a nice smooth tweeter also sounds great...

VERY interested if my amp can handle them, PM sent.

Awesome, will I have enough power for them? If not I wont bother, not looking to change amps.

Well I believe the CTX components are rated somewhere between 80-100 watts RMS. They are 4ohm, and your amp bridged should be perfect for these //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif If you can get this within your price range, I highly recommend them

Hmm ok sounds good, waiting for a reply about price. They shouldn't be deeper than my JL XR's right?

Actually a slight bit shallower. The CTX65CS woofer has a mounting depth of 2.75", the JLs have a depth of 2.81" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Yup, bridge the Alpine and you will be set. They are effecient comps, so they would prolly get ok loud on 40w, but you would be much more pleased if you bridged your amp to them and sent them the 100w.

Replied to your PM.
