6.5 or 6x9s

For my boat?

I have the Kicker Ds693 6x9s now ... but from what I read here most dont like 6x9s

Are 6.5 better? And why?

the oval shape of a 6x9 tends to distort the sound a little more. hard to find a real good-sounding 6x9

id stick to the 6x9" for the boat.

a round speaker generally has greater xmax, which makes it better suited to an infinite baffle install

but if you're powering either off of a headunit, it really doesn't matter
